Pure Ceylon Black tea, Orange Pekoe (OP1) · Cinnamon spice
Loose leaf · From Ruhuna (a.k.a. Southern or Matara) region
Our Cinnamon Chai blend is a combination of two of our favourites: Low grown black tea and pure Ceylon Cinnamon. Hand-plucked at an elevation between sea level and 600m, this tea is heavy and robust; it offers a spicy, fresh flavour and is gold in colour. Ceylon Cinnamon, indigenous to Sri Lanka, is the best of its kind—in fact, it’s known widely as the only “true cinnamon,” or “real cinnamon.” Cinnamon grown in Sri Lanka has a popular reputation on the market for being unique and possessing quality colour, flavour, and aroma. This tea is truly a unique drinking experience for all Chai drinkers.

This is a great tea with simple flavor profiles that blend incredibly well together.
I made this as both a plain tea and a latte on a rainy day. The plain cup has a nice and distinct cinnamon flavor. Smooth and a bit woody. I like this type of cinnamon because to me it is more natural/high quality vs. the cinnamon used by other tea companies that tends to be overly sweet or tastes like red hots. The latte was a bit thin but in fairness I steeped the tea and then forgot to set a timer so it could have been understeeped. However it was creamy and had a hint of cinnamon that served its purpose and made for a warming cuppa on a rainy day. This tea is really quite nice. It doesn't have the spice punch of a usual chai which for some could be positive and others negative. What it does have is cinnamon so if that's what you are looking for, this is the tea for you.
First infusion: -Color: transparent golden milk -Smell: Sweet cinnamon -Taste: medium sour cinnamon, tangy with a lemon touch Second infusion: -Color: transparent medium copper -Smell: Cinnamon and sweet -Taste: spicy cinnamon, a little bit tangy and a little touch of cinnamon. Third infusion: -Color: transparent medium copper -Smell: Sweet dim cinnamon -Taste: Sweet cinnamon, spicy, tangy and dim and I think this third infusion doesn´t have a powerful taste.
Great quality and flavor is unusual but delicious.
The Cinnamon Chai is definitely an excellent tea to purchase. The cinnamon is not over-powering like many other cinnamon teas are. The result is an even blend of black tea with a subtle taste and wonderful aroma of the cinnamon spice. This is a very rich tea to enjoy!
