My favorite tea I have ever tasted
I ordered a dozen different samples to explore. The Organic Gold is BY FAR my personal favorite ever. Such great rich flavor and color but super slow it seems on tannins as low astringency and no bitterness. I have never before taken my black tea plain, but the Organic Gold I do drink plain without milk, sugar, honey or lemon. Both my sister and close friends I bought a supply for agree with me. I also discovered a couple others I will stock for variety, one a flavored black tea and one a blend of black and white teas, so definitely try many to find others you love. But my strongest rec will forever be for the Organic Gold. I use a tsp and a half and steep close to 3 cups so it is for me economical too.
Excellent full bodied tea
This is an excellent black tea, good full flavor and not bitter. I use it as my everyday tea and drink it plain. I brew my tea in a large mug and use 1 1/2 tsp for about 16 ounces of water and it is perfect for me. I don't do a second brewing.
I ordered samples of many of teakruthi's teas. This one was undoubtedly my favorite. Absolutely wonderful. I recommend sampling a wide range of teakruthi's teas because why would your taste possibly match mine? That is very unlikely. I see no reason at all to leave a negative review on another tea just because this one is the best tasting tea I have ever had, including lengthy visits to both Sri Lanka and the Black Sea Coast region of Turkey. As long as I can continue to order this tea, I doubt I ever purchase any other. The only thing that could make me happier is if there were a decaffeinated version for late night and those guests who prefer that.
A morning enhancer
Colonial mornings is a great, rich and very tasty black tea. It's perfectly balanced. I usually put it on our 700ml Japanese teapot that supports loose leafs and let it steep for about 4-5 minutes. I don't re-use the leaves after, just never gets the same amount of rich flavor as the first steeping. But this has become our go-to tea. Also, teakruthi ships extremely fast. From Sri Lanka to our door in the U.S. in about 4 days. Really great stuff.
Bold, Clear and Aromatic
If you prefer a strong cuppa and want something organic then this is the tea for you. Don't be confused by its small leaf size: this is high quality and great tasting tea. It is not bitter, but it does have the astringency that many look for in a strong tea, coupled with some natural sweetness. The flavor is markedly varied, with notes of wood, dried fruits, and citrus peel (I didn't discern the slight burnt note from the description). The strength and clarity of this tea would make for remarkable iced tea. I brewed it hot as directed, starting at 2 minutes (since I didn't add milk) and I got 3 flavorful cups from just 1 teaspoon of leaf. This tea would pair very well with milk if you lengthen the steeping time and go for 2 cups.
