Pure Ceylon Black tea (F BOP)

Loose leaf · From Nuwara Eliya region · Rainforest alliance certified

Our Divine Highlands blend is handpicked from the highest average elevation in Nuwara Eliya. At an elevation of 6,100 ft, Nuwara Eliya is known for producing Ceylon high grown teas, a brew so splendid it is famous for being “fit for the Gods.” An area where the wind is cool and bracing, and the air tinged with the refreshing scents of eucalyptus and mint, the unique climate and altitude of the Nuwara Eliya region provides an exceptional flavour experience for this blend. Fresh, flowery, and natural in taste, our Divine Highlands blend is bright yellow in colour and both satisfying and refreshing.

Not what I expected

The tea is ok, however I was expecting a bolder taste, similar to that of Neekoo Mountain Fresh black tea from CeylonTea. To me, this actually tastes more like LongJin green tea than black tea. I'll keep searching...

An exquisite tea like a smoother rendition of a Darjeeling first flush

This exquisite tea is like a smoother rendition of a Darjeeling first flush. The dry leaf smells fresh, bright, fruity, and suggests sweetness, and has a hint of a musky fragrance. The leaf smells a lot like a Darjeeling, with only subtle differences. Brews a very light-colored, clear cup. This will be one of the lightest Ceylon "black tea" you'll ever have. This has a color as light as many green teas or greener oolongs.

Light, Smooth, and Floral

This is a delicious and refined tea. It starts on a mellow floral note reminiscent of buttercups. A pine-wood astringency rounds out the cup leading to a lingering eucalyptus finish that you can feel on your breath. This reminds me of a first flush Darjeeling, but more mellow and smooth (which is actually quite welcome, since those Darjeelings can be a bit brisk). Note: the grade appears to be FBOP, for those interested.
