Green tea for reducing dark circles

Another common facial skin problem that a lot of people suffer is the appearance of the dark circles. Along with that, some people also experience problems related to eye fatigue, swelling, and puffiness.
These problems can be solved to a certain extent by using an eye relaxation routine which involves Green tea. One way to do this is to refrigerate two Green tea bags and applying them on our closed eyelids for about 15 minutes. This can be done at the end of the day when you want to relax and give your eyes a break from the screen usage.

Green tea for anti-ageing benefits

The anti-oxidants present in Green tea helps your body remain healthy and fight ageing. But for fighting the visible signs of ageing on your facial skin like the loosening of the skin, sun damage, wrinkles, and spots, it will be good to make Green tea a part of your skincare routine.

Normally the dust and pollutants entering into your skin can take the form of oxidants and can give rise to a variety of diseases and make your skin age faster. But, Green tea helps you remove such unwanted antioxidants from your skin.

The polyphenols present in Green tea are extremely beneficial compounds. They are responsible for fighting free radicals and this property of polyphenols is helpful in reducing the visible signs of ageing. These polyphenols also help in reducing the chances of skin cancer.

One of the popular face masks which can be used to achieve these benefits involve mixing Green tea with yoghurt and turmeric to create a paste. This can be applied for twenty minutes twice a week to get desired results.

Green tea is loaded with a host of antioxidants that really help to improve the skin’s renewal procedure. As a result, the skin looks younger and healthier than before. Green tea helps in reversing the ageing lines and make dark sections disappear from your skin.

Green tea for treating acne and pimples

Almost everyone, except for a few blessed people, suffers from acne and pimples problems at some time of the other. Age, stress, hormones, weather, and diet can all play roles here and it is difficult to prevent them altogether.

But a skincare routine using Green tea can help in inhibiting the bacteria responsible for acne and pimples. Catechins that are present in Green tea have antibacterial properties. Apart from that, catechins are known to control the hormonal imbalances which is another great reason to use Green tea to fight acne problems. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) is a special catechin that plays a role here.

Green tea also treats the epidermis by getting rid of all the unwanted toxins. As the toxins are flushed out, acne is cured.

To get relief from acne and pimple problems, a Green tea rinse can be directly applied to the affected areas using cotton and kept for around 15 minutes before being washed off.

Green tea can also be used regularly as a toner to avoid the occurrence of acne. It can help in removing impurities collected in the skin over the day and give a nice healthy glow. It is also a good skincare routine to keep your skin hydrated.

One can prepare a good quantity of Green tea and mix it with any essential oil of their choice and store it for regular usage.

Also, you can add the juice of a lemon (to brighten the skin tone) and two tablespoons of honey (to fight wrinkles) to it. Add a few drops each of Vitamin E oil (to protect from sun’s harmful rays and Tea Tree oil (it has brilliant anti-acne properties). Dissolve a tablespoon of baking soda (to soothe irritated skin) to make an even stronger toner.

Green tea for treating oily skin

Along with all the other compounds, Green tea also contains some amount of tannins. Tannins are known to act as an astringent that shrinks the skin pores. In this manner, Green tea also helps in reducing the production of sebum (the skin’s natural oil) by the glands in each pore making it quite a good solution for oily skin rather than using harsh conventional treatments. These treatments only remove excess oil, rather than by reducing the production of sebum.

Green tea for removing old skin cells

Green tea can also be used as an exfoliator. The slightly abrasive texture of dry Green tea leaves is helpful in removing the old and dead skin cells. It removes the excess oil and pollutants and exposes the cleansed and renewed skin underneath.

There are many ways to create a Green tea scrub. One of the good scrub DIY is to use Green tea with sugar, olive oil, and honey. All of these ingredients have unique properties and they are beneficial for skin in different ways. Making it is as simple as just combining the four ingredients. Adding a scented oil is optional and can just add on to the overall spa experience.

The mixture should be exfoliated for about 30 minutes before washing off. It can be used once in every one or two weeks all over the body.

Where to buy Green tea?

Pure Ceylon Green tea is available at teakruthi. Their Green Teas offer a healthier alternative that is high in Vitamin C and low in caffeine content. The leaves are immediately heated after plucking, thus preventing the oxidation (fermentation) process and allowing them to retain most of their natural Green colour, Vitamins C, and other minerals.
They have two options for Green tea. One is Mythical Green Tea and other is Green Valley Green Tea.

Mythical Green comes from Sri Lanka’s famous Nanu Oya region. History of the region dates back to the time of the popular Indian epic Ramayana. As the legend goes the Sri Lankan king, Ravana, kidnapped the princess, Sita, and hid her in caves in the surrounding area. Later, in 1896, the first tea seeds were planted in the Nanu Oya District. Since then, the superiority of teas grown on this single estate has set them far above the rest — literally. At an elevation of between 1,402–1,950m, this high grown tea has spent its life on top of the world. Our Mythical Green blend appears yellow in colour and boasts a mild, roasted flavour that will earn it a permanent place in your cup.

The Green Valley Green tea is handpicked with care from the Nuwara Eliya Belt in the Pundalu Oya Valley, where high mountain winds produce high-quality Dimbulla Tea. Dimbulla Tea is famous for its superior quality and is frequently sought after by tea enthusiasts from around the world. The Pundalu Valley is known by many as the Golden Valley, where the climate and the fresh mountain air work together to nourish these beautiful, fine golden Green tea plants. This high grown tea is rich and strong and flavour, appears yellow in the cup, and offers a sensational tasting experience.
