Our Certifications

We are committed to serving the highest quality teas to our customers. As such our Crafting & Packaging Center is BRC Food Safety, ISO Food Safety 22000, and GMP / GHP certified. We also source our teas from small-scale specialty plantations, most of which are Rainforest Alliance, UTZ or ETP certified. Look for the labels on each tea for the certifications they are covered by.

Pure Ceylon Tea from teakruthi

Pure Ceylon Tea

'Ceylon Tea', sourced from Sri Lanka, has long had a reputation of being one of the finest in the world. However most teas marketed as such are not truly pure and are often blended with lower quality teas from other markets.

Only teas that are packaged with the lion certification logo is pure Ceylon Tea. The logo certifies that the tea are grown and manufactured entirely in Sri Lanka, conforming to strict quality standards laid down and administered by the Sri Lanka Tea Board. The Rainforest Alliance frog certification assures you that our source plantations are managed according to rigorous environmental, social and economic criteria designed to conserve wildlife; safeguard soils and waterways; protect workers, their families and local communities; and increase livelihoods in order to achieve true, long-term sustainability.

The UTZ seal means that our teas are ethically sourced from plantations that use farming techniques that protect their workers and the environment, ultimately earning a better and more sustainable income.

The UTZ Code of Conduct for tea was developed in partnership with local and global experts and stakeholders including farmers, local tea experts, government officials, NGOs, traders and tea packers, to ensure that the needs of both producers and businesses are met. To learn more visit the UTZ website.

BRC Food Safety is a Global Standard certifying good manufacturing practices that ensures safe, legal products that meet the quality levels expected by customers.

Food Safety System 22000

The FSSC 22000 Food Safety System is a certification standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is based on existing ISO Standards. It validates that food and beverage manufacturing facilities and their supply-chain demonstrates a robust Food Safety Management System in place, meeting the requirements of customers and consumers.

GMP & GHP

Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is a system for ensuring that products are produced and controlled consistently according to quality standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in any food and drug production that cannot be eliminated through testing the final product.
